Programme of Events
Guest Speakers/Lectures
Topics as diverse as nature, travel, landscape, portrait, army, underwater and monochrome photography, the speakers offer interesting and inspirational thoughts and ideas
Competitions
Open Subject and Set Subject are part of the Club’s regular competitions involving a visiting judge
Trophy nights - offer an opportunity to enter for various trophies that are up for grabs. All Trophies are subsequently awarded at the AGM
Workshops
An informal hands-on opportunity to learn more about a subject that interests you or that you have not tried before. Organised by members - typically they incorporate set-ups where you can use your own camera and equipment. The evenings are designed to suit what you need with advice on hand for every aspect of the subject.
Members Nights
Members' night - the opportunity to show some examples of your images and maybe talk for 5 or 10 minutes on a type of photography you really enjoy, if you would like to. It is great fun, and a lovely way to find out what makes people tick, it can be quite eye-opening at times.
Inter Club Events
Inter club events - these mainly consist of photographic competitions with other clubs within our federation. Some of these are competitions contributing to club rankings but many are light hearted in their approach. Whatever the format of these evenings it is a good opportunity to meet and socialise with fellow photographers in other clubs
Club Trips/Outings
We have various outings - a night-time photography event, usually when the fair comes to Salisbury Market Place. We also have a summer photography outing to interesting and photogenic places like Martin Down. We have a Christmas get-together meal.
Spring break holiday that has included places/venues such as the Isle of Wight, Bridport and Bexhill, which are always very popular.
